Summary:

Supervise and coordinate the work of the Physical Damage Specialist Unit (PDS). Responsible for the overall direction, production, and evaluation of the unit. Carry out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable state and Department of Insurance regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direction to all subordinates and employees on a daily basis.
• Complete monthly workflow analysis of the unit to maximize efficiencies
• Set performance expectations for unit personnel.
• Review claim files above the PDS Reps authority.
• Handle high dollar, complex claims.
• Assist in training of less experienced Reps.
• Test viability of new programs in operations.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports of the volume of work handled by each PDS rep.
• Participate in weekly supervisor/team leader meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proficient CCC estimating systems or similar estimating systems such as: Audatex, Mitchell, etc.
• Proficient knowledge and skill to use a computer and Windows based desktop.
• Exercise sound financial judgment and discretion in handing insurance claims.
• Ability to handle a variety of tasks at one time.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment .
• A Strong attention to detail.
• An effective listener with the ability to manage and execute directions.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of co-workers, supervisors, managers, internal customers, external customers, vendors and other insurance professionals.
